I don't disagree at all, these are just examples of quality stand alone chargers that though not inexpensive would be a lot less costly than replacing the OP's 1K genset with a 2K. Either is capable of properly bulk charging his batteries and doing so would require no changes to the trailer at all other than simply turning off it's converter.
