With due respect to MW and his recommendation for a charger that allows manually setting the charge voltage I'd suggest that since you "know little about electrical hookups" that you'd be far better served with one of the automatic chargers I suggested earlier. Either is Plug 'n Play - just connect it's charge cable to the batteries, plug it's input cable into the genset's 120 vac outlet, and let the charger do the thinking for you. No question, a manually controlled charger overall would be more effective but not if you don't know what you're doing with it. K.I.S.S. ;)
