Mex, I don't have any inrush measurements, but my 40 amp VEC1093DBD (in that photo) ramps up in amps after you start it, reaching 40.4 in sort of steps you can see happening, so that might help.
He can also start at the 20 amp setting and go to 40 afterwards.
SG, I know you like yours, but IMO $300 for a 25 amper is over the top, when you can get a 35 amper for under $100
