I am trying to avoid a bulky j-box in the cabinets. I am thinking something like the outlet multipliers (turns a dual outlet into 6), but mounts to a surface instead of plugging into an existing outlet.
You either had another outlet
Or install some kind of switch between the new cord and the existing outlet
You cannot connect the new power to existing outlet STILL connected to the RV wiring
And just plugging into the outlet with a male plug
Is called a "SUICIDE CORD "
Grab that with the inverter turned on and you will get shocked
Forget and leave it plugged in and connect to shore power or generator and you will fry the inverter, and maybe more
Fire is a possibility
Separate outlet or a cord or switch, no double ended plugs, no dual power simultaneous connections
