Round sockets exist and are not hard to find with a bit of googling.
Maybe this one would work and not be too hard to buy? A box would still be required (or at least advisable), but if there's room behind the location in the console in the vehicle you could presumably rig it such that the console forms a sort of coverplate and so only need to make one big and two small round holes in it.
