Leavitt Meadows Pack Station and friend Bart Cranny. Horse packed up there at Yosemite North boundary area and many summer thunderstorms brought wind gusts I would imagine hit 80 mph. If you ever break a panel worth several hundred dollars, the pain stays with you a long time. Took a 51 watt Kyrocera panel and Group 27 battery with me on one trip. Needed instantaneous 100-watt light for bears. Turn both lights on for a moment at night and the bears would quickly flee. Stubborn bears required an M80 inserted under their chassis.
