That's really hard to say. The wires under the bed could be as simple as water pump wires. I would definitely NOT connect them together.
Do you have a multimeter that you can use to troubleshoot? Really all you are going to need to be able to do is take voltage readings.
Take the voltage at the battery and write it down. Now start following the positive wire along the tongue. Any connector you see poke the red lead of the meter into it to get a reading and put the black lead on ground. You should get the same battery voltage at all the connections. If the voltage stops you have found the device that is stopping it.
