2004 Georgetown Intellitec Battery Disconnect Switch

I took my 2004 Georgetown out for a spin yesterday, and after parking it at the storage facility at the end of the drive, manipulating the battery disconnect switch would not disconnect the batteries. The red light stayed illuminated and I had 12v power throughout the house. At the start of the day, the 12v power had been off until I manipulated the switch to turn it on. At that time the switch worked. When I turned it on, you could hear the distinctive click when the batteries connected, but no such click when trying to disconnect. It is an Intellitec BD0 Battery Disconnect Panel Switch 01-00066-004.

Is this just a simple issue of replacing the switch, or is there something more complicated than just replacing the switch that I need to be concerned with? A replacement switch is only ~$40 online.
  • Yes it does. Actually, I was able to fine a copy on-line of the manual for both the specific switch and relay that I have on my unit. It gives troubleshooting instructions to determine if one or the other is bad. So I will plan to do that this weekend when I can get access again to the RV. Thanks

Don't you also have a Latching Relay (solenoid kinda thing) near your batteries, that looks like this?

Test for voltage at the two small terminals. Disconnect one of the small terminals. If the control switch is stuck "ON" then Relay should un-latch (cut 12VDC power off) or you can cycle it Latch/Un-Latch with that wire.

I really hope the 12VDC battery cables aren't connected to that little panel pictured in the OP...
  • i would try running genset or plug in to shore power to see if higher voltages might 'undo' some hangup.

Just looked it up & yes, it's a circuit board.

Here's one on EBAY that has a voltage reading display also. $47

  • You can probably pull the panel & replace the rocker switch only. No need to replace the entire thing.
