2004 Onan MicroQuiet 4000 Rides again....

It would crank over but would not fire.

So:

1. Checked throttle linkages and choke for freedom of movement.
2. Pulled fuel line and checked for fuel with primer switch.
3. Pulled the plug, dry as a bone.
4. No fuel fumes in the exhaust.

Still no fire. So, its got to be the carb. Oh Boy, that's like work :)

Pulled out a make shift steel hammering stick and gently tapped the carb while cranking and presto, it started.

One Happy Camper. :B
  • Thank goodness for hammers !!!!..... I'm glad it was an easy fix for you and I'll file this one in my generator file.

Just shut ours off. Had a power outage at the campground, back on.

Friend bought a new carb for a bigger ONAN, Emerald 5500I believe, and the hinge part of the plastic float was binding. Had to file a little bit of plastic 0ff so it could drop.
