2005 Cummins ISC Oil Dipstick Broken

Hi all,
I am the new owner of a 2005 Holiday Rambler DP on a Roadmaster chassis. Got it home yesterday and noticed oil dripping from the mud flap. Crawled under the coach and discovered that the oil dipstick tube had broken off at the base where it enters the engine block. I'll need to replace the plastic tube and the metal insert/tube that goes into the block. Anyone know how that metal tube comes out? Is it pressed or threaded in? Is there an online source for these parts? I assume that the metal tube needs to come from Cummins and the plastic tube is either generic or a Roadmaster part. Any help is appreciated.

  • I have used a REVERSE THREAD EZ-OUT to gently spin out the tube. Barely engage broken off tubing using tightly squeezed-onto EZ-OUT Vise Grips, twist back & forth and pull.

Try to support the new tube midway up using cable ties. The fracture seems to occur after 10,000,000 yadda yadda vibration cycles.
  • I do not know anything about this engine. But I would assume that once you get the replacement parts that you need, you will be able to see how they are installed.
