2018 Montana 330RL water control valve

Bought a 2019 330RL a few month back everything has been going great until this last Boondocking trip. Our water pump would go off for 2 seconds every so often. Checked all fitting in under sinks and towelette. Looked al around the pump and hoses with no leaks. When I turn valve to fill the pump seems to go off on occasion. Once the tank is filled is it manditory to turn it to normal flow. Or is this for when you are using city water.

    Hey WebeRving?

Have you found the button for the television booster? I can't find one in mine anywhere. I asked my dealer service guys about this also when I was fussing about the water pump. On the last call (earlier on Friday), he told me he thought the newer Montanas (and some other campers), did not have "the button", that the television booster was built in? Does this sound right to you? Or have you located a television booster button anywhere?

The tv button is behind the bedroom tv.

We picked up our new 2019 Montana on Tuesday this week. We've been driveway camping every night and now we are at General Butler State Park in Kentucky for a 4 day week-end.

I've been on the phone with my dealer 3 times since we took delivery because the water pump keeps kicking off about once very minute. They told me to check for leaks, the pump, you name it. Brand new trailer and I've had to tear it apart already looking for something that didn't exist.

It hit me Friday afternoon, when I was sitting in the pass-through bay with that wall removed, exposing all the wires and plumbing, and I'm scratching my head, running my hands over each water line trying to figure out how everything is run and then it hit me like a ton of bricks ... all at once!

THAT FILL VALVE! I flipped it back to the "Normal" position and off "FILL" and I'll be a monkey's uncle .... it's not pulsated at all ever since! DUH! The walk through didn't explain that one to me!

But then I was fiddling with it again, after I got the wall screwed back in place and everything put back in the basement. For some reason, the pump was just running and running and running, and I wasn't getting water anywhere, except a trickle. I'm thinking to myself.... "Oh boy! What did I just mess up?"

I finally went back out and looked at all the valves... HA! HA!... I had flipped the valve on for "winterize" and the pump was just sucking air! (Kick me in the arse!)

All is well now! I'm a happy camper again! By the way, General Butler State Park in Kentucky really has a NICE campground.
  • The valve should always be in NORMAL unless you are connected to city water and want to add water to the fresh water tank. Then turn it to FILL just long enough to add however much water you want in that tank. The pump is normally only used if not connected to city water. With city water you do not need the pump on unless water pressure is abnormally low.

By “go off 2 seconds” do you mean the pump turns on for 2 seconds occasionally and turns back off? The pump will run until it builds required pressure, then turn off. If pressure bleeds off it may restart momentarily to restore that pressure. Could be a very small leak. Could be a check valve leaking. Could be a faucet drip.
