gdetrailer,
THANK YOU !!!
Horrible internet here. I checked out the link 4 minutes loading time. Do these come in a 5K color version, universal mount (no base plug)?
The 10 watt discrete chips require a 90 X 10 mm heatsink which limits their use. Dimming is not required. Would love to start accumulating that style of LED at my USA PO box.
And thanks again for doing all the footwork. I gave all the pretenders away to poor folks living on a battery and small solar panel. They are so thankful to get rid of a screw in 50 watt 12 volt incandescent light bulb. I feel guilty giving them inferior stuff.
They do not seem to offer 5000K, instead they have 6000K HERE which is going to be more on the blueish white.
There is no "sockets" per say with the G4 style base, you basically get two "pins" which have a spacing of 4mm (hence the G4 designation).
These lights are available in the "side" pins like I showed or "back" pins (the pins stick out the back of the module).
In both cases of pin style you can simply cut the pins short and solder light gauge wires directly to the pins then terminate the wires to the socket that you need.
If you choose to do this you will need to come up with some way to hold the modules in place since the back is populated with the regulator parts and you do not want to cover those with double sided tape or glue (you must allow some air movement to cool the parts on the back).
The modules do seem to have some sort conformal coating to seal the parts and circuit board which should be good for potential damp areas too boot.
They do appear to be well made..
