Works great for me. I have two trailers in my back yard hooked to my garage on separate 20AMP circuits. I have the 10-gauge (10-3) contractor type 50-foot extension cords. I use the RV30A-15A long DOG BONE TYPE Adapter (WALMART).
Hope your Adapter looks like this as the small round adapters may burn up your shore power cable.

DO NOT use these small round type adapters

We also have one of these RV120VAC PLUG-IN VOLTMETERs plugged into a good spot in the trailer where we can get a good glimpse of it. This has the SAFE ZONE printed in GREEN. If the AC VOLTAGE is outside of the GREEN AREA we will not turn on any of the high wattage appliances.

Once you get hooked up be sure to feel the connections to make sure that they are not getting hot.
We run anything in our trailer including the Air Conditioner. The problem is since we only have 15A/20A service if we have two high wattage appliances on at the same time it will trip the house breaker.
If your extension is not a 10-gauge or 12-gauge you can NOT run the high wattage items. The cheaper RED extension cords from WALMART are usually 14-16 gauge and they should not be used.
We carry this setup with us on all our trips. You never know when you might need to get hooked up to something less than 30A. When we visit the kids at their house we hook ours up to sleep in the trailer in their driveway...
