454 /water in Cylinder 7 and coming out of exhaust pipe

I apologize for not making myself clearer. I was referring to the same "Generation" GM v8 of centerbolt valve covers, pre Vortec, TBI engines that were ALL Intake gasket eaters.
As far as doing the 502 swap...great idea if you have a wrecked WorkHorse chassis laying around! The coin needed for external accessories would probably triple the rebuild of the 454 and the 700R4 wouldn't hold it either. 502's were mated to Ally's.
