Copper thieves will chop the cord and pull the stub out of your security loop. A stainless steel wire rope bonded to the cord would work.
I cannot tell you how happy I am with my 12-volt 50-mile fence charger. Thieves haven't got a clue as to what jolted them.
LOL.....have had them dewire and deplumb a building or two during construction, and a few years back a moron decided to go for the wires further up the pole and executed himself........pretty sure those wires were not copper lol.
