70-amp adjustable PS

I wonder how they are going to manage incoming and outgoing power in a larger size bank. Cars like the Tesla use a computer and sensor array that is phenomenally complicated. It shuttles and shunts power around in the batteries like a flight controller. Then there is the cold weather issue. I have many many questions and a vendor of the two thousand dollar batteries stated to me: "There aren't any management.problems". Hmmm...

LiPo fires are well known in the RC world, and there has been more than one house/ garage burned down because of it. All of my batteries are stored either in an Ammo Can or fire bag and charge with no flammables around them. When in use the produce a stupid amount of current and get pretty warm doing so.

Even when the Phone's Wifi/ GPS are turned off, and all apps closed, it will do so. Usually rebooting the phone stops this excessive mysto battery drain. Sometimes putting it in airplane mode stops the excessive battery drain, other times not.

Invariably, this is some sort of Wifi search function gone haywire and draining your batteries, or a cell tower search function gone haywire, searching for a cell site. Pumping out pings and broadcasting packets at full wattage in search mode draws a lot of current from the batteries. Try turning off data mode and wifi mode temporarily to clear that stuff out, or reboot the phone.

Makes perfect sense. Then it sends all its excess heat to some airplane cargo hold...

Boeing has recommended that carriers do not carry Lithium batteries in their holds. It will be upto the profit seeking carriers whether they comply with this recommendation.

I have the S4, man does it get hot sometimes. Usually when I'm running the GPS or streaming a show.

And recent news indicates that the LiPo batteries may be banned from airline cargo transport due to fires. This is not batteries being used by the plane rather just being transported. And the concern is that these batteries are the ones starting the fire.

Education would be in order but the cost of samples to play with are far beyond my resources ability. unless they find a way to make an excellent product that can reasonably compete with AGM amp hour cost wise my interest remains subdued.

Your Galaxy S2 that I gave you uses LiIon battery packs. They don't get hot charging, because they charge so slow, maybe 300 or 400Mah rate. Not a problem dissipating the heat then. When you get a Galaxy S4 and 2000Mah charge rate and done in 45 minutes to an hour, you get some heat... I just call it good at 90% SOC and don't waste the time for the last 10%, myself.

it would be good to remember that these LiPo RV batteries are just a box with a number of little cells arranged in packs , and most likely with the charge control boards inside and attached to the cells
i've looked at the Prius cell replacement and battery exchange videos on the youtube and other places
the DIY EV movement buys these takes them apart test the cells and reassemble them in configurations they can use
the guy i bought my surplus AGMs from has two cars one truck and two electric motorcyles, one car was factory made, i think it was an electric Fiat
the other vehicles were conversions, he did the VW truck and one MC, he bought the VW rabbit not running but already converted to FLA, he is converting to LiPo
he showed me the installed bank with all the little charge control boards on each cell pack, and pointed out the weak cells he needed to replace
this tech is NOT yet plug and play, its more like "Tinker & Pray"
not saying you can't buy LiPo boxed and ready to go..you can, but its expensive
and when an internal cell pack gets weak, its replace the whole thing,
or learn a whole lot about LiPo internals and how to do it safely
