It has to be a bulk purchase and shipping cost is a sticking point. If I decide to share the items would be sent from the UPS Store in Chula Vista. I would ask folks interested to send a UPS pickup request to the store. I would have to afford a measure of trust for forum folks to send their check to my PO box.
No this isn't stupid because it is non-profit. It's called sharing. One of those outmoded ideals...
TRY THIS ON FOR SIZE...
Start with a fully charged AGM battery. Set the power supply for whatever float voltage you choose. The AGM never leaves float. it stays at setpoint float up to a seventy amp hotel load. Now theoretically, a person can use an inverter and a microwave and overpower the 70-amp potential, but these things have to be taken into consideration. Otherwise the device would hold a battery in perpetual float UPS style. I do not think such a power supply to be ideal for use with with a flooded battery. But with AGM is stops perpetual cycling between absorbsion and float. No question this power supply would greatly extend the life of an AGM battery that does not regularly experience +70 ampere loads. Example: A 100 ampere total load for three minutes would be a -30 ampere discharge of the battery - the load can cease and the battery resume a (say) 13.4 volt setpoint voltage without any side effects unless the >70 ampere load was done five times or more in a day. I cannot see a microwave being used like that nor can I imagine a rig with a greater than 70-amp hotel load. This critter uses a standard 1-turn 500 ohm pot making it ideal for a multi-turn pot replacement. Voltage range 10.2 to 14.1
Plug and play has it's applications. Folks adept with electrical may find such a device as this, useful beyond measure - and then there is a matter of cost.
We shall see how flexible (or not) the vendor is with combined shipping costs.
