I have an 06 Fleetwood Southwind on the Ford F53 chassis. I'm having a power issue in that my batteries aren't charging when connected to shore power and I only have 120 to my GFI in the bathroom and the microwave.I thought maybe the wfco converter was bad so I went through the process of figuring it out. I metered the outlet the converter plugs into and theres no power to it. I checked and cycled all of my breakers and fuses and still no luck. I'm probably wrong on this but shouldn't the converter have direct ac power like the micro and GFI? I'm running out of talent and might cave and take it in soon...

Check in the Utility compartment, there might be another GFI and it could be tripped shutting off power to the outlet that feeds the convertor. Worth a look!!!

You can prove the converter by plugging it into a known good 120v receptacle, by extension cord.You need 120 to the converter's receptacle , now dead. Breakers are good (it seems--they can be tricky) Leaves a popped GFI on the same circuit as the converter's receptacle.you should "only" have 120 to run things in the Rv. Perhaps you have lost one leg of your 50amp and the converter is on that lost leg? what else does not work that might identify which leg it is on?Now you need to get both legs working. Do you have an inverter pass through 30a on one of the legs that may have quit?

look up under the engine hood for circuit breakers on the main firewall. They will probably come directly off the batteries.

Found a blue sea breaker under the hood coming from the main batt that had the flag out on it. I reset it and didnt notice a change anywhere.I also metered my outlets and found all the gfi outlets have power. I only found on outlet that was a resttable gfi in the bathroom. When I flip the cutoff switch to the batteries tje converter fan comes on for a second and quits. Still no power to it though. Im thinking the converter is probably ok.

sounds like a bad battery shorted cell, causing to much current to flowthe tripping DC breaker is protecting the converter

You said you don't have ac power getting to the converter, and that all breakers are set. That still means you lost ac power somewhere on that circuit.
That has nothing to do w/ DC breakers or the battery.
Do like was said, from an outside source, run an ext cord to your converter. If that source trips a breaker, then the problem lies in the converter, or battery, or anything downstream from there.

Ok, day 2 of the fun. I took the cover off the breakers and I only have power to the lower half of the panel below the main breaker. When I run the generator I have power to the whole coach without issue.

The fun continues...

I assume Rv has 50 amps service.... time to make those same voltage checks at the transfer switch.

Are you plugged into 50 amp power or 30 amp?

This is where one of those hand held voltage detectors is worth its weight in gold. But, of course, there will follow 500 posts on this subject and a hundred million words of guesswork.
