Ac help - keystone carbon

Evening....first time needing the ac with our new this year carbon. It was about a high of 80 today with low humidity, turned it on to cool and set thermostat to 75....left it alone closed up came back and it had to be 90 in there. Blowing not cold air.

Tomorrow is supposed to be 90....any ideas on how to make a new ac cool? Frank the thermostat down to lowest temp didn't seem to help. Thanks

Normal to be bad from the start?
Ours was on the first new trailer we purchased. Never checked it out until we needed it. :M
Needless to say we didn't make that same mistake when we purchased our second TT years later. :)
  • Yes set to cool, yes fan auto and high. Unit is Coleman Mach, same for thermostat. Fan runs fine, sounds like it's compressor as it sounds as it if tries to run for a few seconds, shuts of and just fan, then it will try again....repeat.

I checked blue and white wires above filters, seemed tight. Checked thermostat don't see any obvious damage. Certified center close by but they don't make saturday visits and I don't want to load the family and all up....will try to survive without or some sort of other fix.
  • Thermostat.......

    Is it set to COOL?
    IS Fan in auto.......high speed?

When you turn set point down to temp lower than room temp so you hear 2 motors start (Fan and Compressor)?

Fan on...then turn on AC by lowering set point do you hear Compressor motor start?

    What make/model AC Unit--thermostat---and furnace?

    Questions/questions-----------answers!
  • Turn it on to just fan only and it's the same temp output as with ac turned to on and thermostat lowest setting. Thoughts or ideas?
  • I can't see how it would be iced up at all as it ran for such a short time?
  • Probably iced up. Next time look to see. If it is you need to get more air circulation.
