Earlier in this thread I said that if the AC started and the cords didn't heat up and the voltage doesn't drop too much, you're OK. I retract that statement. I was wrong.
The other day, after having run mine for a few minutes I thought I was good to go. Today, as I was going to be working on my slideout mechanism, I fired up the AC. After about 15 minutes, it started sounding odd - like a knocking noise. As I was getting up to turn it off, it quit and left this error code on my thermostat:
"E7" Loss of 120 VAC power to all power module boards on the system. The system
will shut down.
None of the breakers popped, but I guess the voltage just got too low right at the AC despite good readings on another receptacle.
I'm not going to do that again.
Time for me to get around to pulling that cable from the other end of the house through the attic so I can have a 30A receptacle for the RV.
