Here's how my rig is wired from the factory: The Kwikee red wire is connected to the chassis battery through a 20 amp fuse and a relay. The relay is energized if either the ignition or house battery is turned on. The OR function is simply a wire-OR diode circuit. Besides powering the step controller, the same switched circuit powers the CO detector and slideout controller. The downside of this approach is that when boondocking the relay coil is always pulling out of the house battery.
