My 20A portable auto charger does better than your setup. At 50% SOC your charger should ramp up to bulk charging close to the charger limit.
As a temporary test set the charger within 1' of the batteries (on a chair etc), use the largest wire that will fit and see how it charges.
Also have you confirmed with a hydrometer that the batteries are at 50% when the Trimetric says 50%? Just probing around.
