A&E awning to Carefree

I agree with Chris Bryant above. I would not go back to manual. I love being able to close my awning from inside my rig if the weather gets bad. I can tilt mine for rain and even tie it down if need be. I swapped mine out on my previous rig (Montana) after being backed in to by a motorhome creasing and tearing my awning. I replaced with the same size awning. The hardest part was drilling the hold and running wires for the switch and motor. Don't release the straps and screws until installed would be my only warning.

Most of the dislike for electric models is due, IMHO, to A&E models. Most Carefree models can be tilted (and they roll up and down to the tilted position).

Most cannot be adjusted at all. Either in or out. Means you cannot lower one end to allow rain runoff. Cannot lower to block afternoon sun. Should not be tied down. Mine does not cover as much as the manual did.

They are fair weather devices. Why would I want an awning that needs to be rolled up at the slightest hint of a breeze? Why would I want one that dumps water over everything? I used to enjoy sitting out during a summer rain... Now forget about it.
