After oil change tapping noise

Well I have my fingers crossed.
After draining all the shythetic and additives out and filling with straight Dino and driving it for a day the noise is almost gone.
The synthetic and any additive that thinned the oil definitely made the situation much worse.
I was told years ago not to use synthetic on an old engine because it could cause problems.
I didn't intend to put synthetic in when the oil was changed, they were probably trying to do me a favor.
I hope it is as simple as that, we will see.
