air cond.

I have a 31 foot bunk house with a full wall slide out and a 13500 BTU air unit. I have checked the inlet and outlet of the unit and I get a good 20 deg. difference but my RV stays about the same as the outside temp with vents and windows closed. I have sealed every place that the air flows and its better but not good enough. Is my air to small (13550) and if so if I replaced it with a 15000BTU unit would it be a big enough difference to change?

DO you set A/C at say 72*F and then leave it...let it run as needed

    OR

Do you WAIT until it's already warming up THEN turn on A/C

    ?????

Get an early start and cool it before it gets warmed up.

Lot of latent heat in furniture/walls---ceiling to cool before you will get rig cooled down.

Keep it cool and don;t let it warm up.

    13.5K is marginal but doable
15K would be better but 1/2 of your available 30A will be used for A/C so you would need to do a little 'electrical load' management
IE: Fridge, Water heater on propane and iffy on microwave at same time A/C on
  • What kind of outside temperatures are you dealing with? Full sun or shaded?
