Allison HD 4060 Trans Code?

Ok..so I asked this on another forum but figured knowledge is a good place to start with this.
My Allison has started to act up with a Tran's Code of (D-1) 00-35, which translates to a "power interruption", (D-2 thru 5 had no codes). Went on a 300+ mile trip where while at highway speeds, the "do not shift light " will come on and the shift pad will go blank and/or have two figures in the display that look like small "t's". On this trip it did this about 15+ times. On the way back from this trip it didn't do this at all other than on initial start up and when I got home and put the MH in reverse....in this case it felt as though when the tran's was in the do not shift mode while backing, it actually came out of reverse...I thought I had run into something.

One other tid bit of info, at highway speeds when the do not shift indicator came on, the speedometer went to zero and when returning to normal within seconds, I would be right back into the same gear. My odometer/trip odometer stopped working about the same time as this all started.

Any thoughts? I will pull the ECM and display wire harness's to clean with contact cleaner but after that I'll be a loss.

I would keep in mind that "contact cleaner" should be re-named to "Contact Washing Liquid".

Only DeOxit preferably D100, can really "fix" an oxidized contact.

If your treatment "seems to help but not cure" your ailment I would keep this in mind.

Best of Fortune for your repair :)

    Good info....thank you!

  • OK so I disconnected the wiring harness's to the Power Relays, pulled all the relays, sprayed them with Contact cleaner as well as both male and female connections. I also pulled the Key Pad and sprayed that too. As of right now, before a Test drive, it is NOT doing or having the issue it was on starting the MH. No more funny lines on display, no more blinking/buzzer of DO Not Shift. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get it out and do some driving...forward and reverse.
  • My guess and only that is there is a plugin from the trans to the drivers seat somewhere that is loose or worn or needs reset.
