Use the shift pad to check for diagnostic codes in the Allison:
Key on, engine off:
Push up and down arrow at the same time. You are right at the juncture where this put you into diagnostic mode (earlier models) OR into OL (oil level) check.
If the latter, just push the up and down arrows again.
That will bring up d-1 followed by any code. - - means no codes.
If there is a code for d-1, record it. Push mode button to proceed to d-2, etc.
When you get a d- (number) and - -, there are no more codes.
Push D to exit. Look up codes on Allison's website.
