Alternator replacement for MADP
Replacing a Leece/Neville A001090772 with a Delco/remy 28SI 8600308 any problems or thoughts would be helpful and appreciated.

Unlike the LN, the DR uses REMOTE SENSING to deliver battery voltage value to the integral voltage regulator. The Leece uses what it sees right at the alternator.
Where to sense from. The engine STARTING BATTERY is the SAFEST place to take voltage from as it has the fewest switches and solenoids separating it from the alternator. The HOUSE batteries would then see a slightly lower voltage. It's inevitable because of voltage drop through the switches and connections.
But then most RV house batteries are higher antimony and require a slightly lower voltage. My vote is to connect the alternator S terminal directly to the ENGINE STARTING BATTERY.
This model Delco versus that model Leece is the Delco will deliver 120 amperes of charge rather than 80 amperes of charge at 2,000 ALTERNATOR RPM. Both are rated 160 amperes maximum but it looks like the Delco has 40 amperes advantage potential at engine idle speed.
Delco LOVES to use hard carbon brushes. They fracture at an early age. If your Delco quits charging a rebuilder can easily replace brushes with a more rational grade of brush.
Both have .875" drive end shafts and big bearings. Both have 5/16" positive battery studs, and 1/4" negative studs. The Delco also has an "R" terminal meaning a stator tap available.
