I get all sorts of funny voltages across the various pins on the 7-pin and the 7-pin ground pin. (Truck only) Only get battery voltage itself ISTR across pin 4 and pin ground.
It is true that with less voltage the 12v lights are dimmer. (Same with your rig's 12v lamps on converter 13.x vs battery 12.x)
