Amazon hydraulic crimper

Wanted to give a report on this hydraulic crimper I picked up off Amazon for $37.30 Used it to crimp 4ga cable lugs today and it works very well, put a nice 4 sided crimp on the lug. The dies are marked in MM but from what I gather MM translates to AWG as follows. #4mm=12AWG, #6=10AWG, #8=8AWG, 10=6AWG, 16=4AWG, 25=2AWG, 35=1AWG, 50=1/0AWG, 70=2/0AWG though I used a 25 die on the 4 guage wire and lug and it crimped the heck out of it. Anyway its a good crimper for the money.

  • I found another chart that is more to what I figured out with the 4ga lugs.

    1 50

  • I had to crimp some really large 000 wire for my 1500 watt inverter.

I used my 6" table vice. It worked really well, and the crimps did not release in the past 20 years. So good so far.

    Good luck on your project!
