Smk,
Have you seen current rise at the end of a Vabs charge? It seems strange, to me.
I've seen it happen using this converter, but it was only for a short while and maybe half an amp rise. But that was on half the bank. And now that I think about it, my Peak 40a use to do weird things once it got down to about the 20a mark on my bank; somewhere between the 90 and 95% soc range. Current would jump up and down, like mad, and the Honda would rev up and down, trying to keep up. I would quickly change it to its 10a setting, and things would settle down.
This pm4b is apparently doing something similar. Amps aren't going nuts, but they are doing the unexpected, i.e, rising, rather than either tapering, or at least leveling off for a while. And it's occurring during that same 90-95% soc range, based on the voltage being used. Also, once the converter dropped down to float voltage, and therefore a lower amperage, current began to taper again.
So maybe it's just some weird quirk my batteries have.
I am happy to see the converter still goes into float. It's nice to know it's an option.
