Finally got around to giving it a try. Used mt 18v 1/2 drive impact and it zipped right out. Nothing left but the metal rod. All the remains are in the bottom. What is the best way to get all the*****...

I am just curious. The thread for the anode rod in my hot water tank appear to have a build up of something white. The material is very tough and I am not sure how to remove it. It is only on part of threads and does not interfere with the installation of the anode rode. Just curious if anyone else has the problem and if anyone has any suggestion to remove it.
