Another Example Of Tongue In Cheek eBay "error"

Well, that I can see happening, but a 120Vac cord just suddenly not working? And this has happened to me several times.

The only time I've experienced excessive heat with one of these types of 120v cords was when powering my gopher 20a power supply. I bought a heavier cord for it, and that made a big difference.

The 12 volt cord is the one that caught fire. After re-reading my post I realized my error/omission. I am going to chop the cords off at the case and use 18/2 feeders soldered and heat-shrinked from the case outwards. The cases are thermal sealed and not meant to be opened.

I have several 120-12v bricks, ranging from 2a to 5a output. I haven't had any problems with the bricks themselves, but several cords have failed! On several occasions, I would bench test a set-up... say a 12v pump, powered off a 120Vac receptacle. Everything would work fine... that is, until I actually installed it. I mean, routing the cord thru a wall, or whatever, sealing things up, etc., just to find it no longer worked! I would pull everything back out... set-up the bench test again, and no power. But if I replaced the brick's power cord, things would work again... frustrating as all get out! I now have numerous back up cords.

It is NOT ""error". It is not a mistake. Go to eBay. I mean actually GO THERE and see for yourself how many DIFFERENT vendors are marketing DIFFERENT li-ion packs as being 50K mah.

I pointed out months ago Chinese vendor's ABSURD claims of LED light bulb wattage. Not equivalence, actual device consumption. When I made individual contact-seller inquiries many vendors coughed up the actual milliamp consumption - a tiny fraction of advertised wattage. Other vendors offered eloquent explanation of how they No Speak The English.

Having operated a battery testing lab for many years makes me critical of false advertising. When it becomes - when it morphs into a cultural phenomenon it's time to throw out the yellow Caution Flag. The Chinese are dominating many items in the consumer market place. No competition. With zero monitoring and verification this can become dangerous. Not hazardous or inconvenient -DANGEROUS. How about CO alarms that say UL but aren't?

Got NEWWWWS for some of you. 12 Volt power bricks rated 84-watts with TWENTY FOUR GAUGE secondary wiring. I had one CATCH FIRE Sunday. The body of the brick had every consumer test lab clearance in the book including UL and CSA. The output line was FAT but the conductors were copper threads. I have NINE more bricks just like it.

Not to mention vaccines... but that's a whole nuther topic.

Amazon is selling 50000mah power packs just like this. If it's about protecting us RV consumers, then your efforts might be better spent informing us about misleading claims made by "reputable" companies. Most people know that buying an extremely cheap product off eBay (regardless of where it was manufactured and/or sold) comes with the inherent risk that it's not as advertised - a person is much more likely to trust something sold/fulfilled by Amazon. As for counterfeit medicines, the same thing holds true - why not protect us against the U.S. companies that are falsely advertising diet and health supplements that are actually very dangerous...

That unit is over 14 cu. in.

What's being ignored is the max 1-2a draw... and this is used to calculate the Amp Hour Rating.

Well I don't know about your 1000mah cell
But if you go take a closer look at the batteries I the link I posted
You will see they are also 2~3 amp max and are still only 10,000man
I wouldn't try sticking 50 of your cells in a sealed box
Remember lithium has a heat control problem
Charge rate and heat dissipation have to be controlled
If 100 models/brand that size are 10,000
How does one seller pack 50,000 into the same case
Look close and you will find identical looking models with different brand name and marked 10,000man

If every error on ebay gets posted here... there will be no room to talk about anything RV related.

Well, my 1000 mAh AAA batteries have a volume of about .1656 cu. in.. 50 of them would take up about 8.28 cu. in..

That unit is over 14 cu. in.

To me, it was an honest mistake. I mean, the seller added one lousy xtra 0,... same as you lacked one 0 in your very first post,.......give him a break.
Instead of making him out to be a crook, why not PM him and tell him of the misprint, and he would probably correct it. I have done it several times, and they corrected it every time.
