- vermilyeExplorer III had a 5 cu ft Dometic RM 2510 that only required 12V to fire the ignitor, not to run. There are similar size models that use a push button piezoelectric ignitor that require no 12V at all - saw one in a 2010 Scamp 16, but didn't check the model #.

- coolmom42Explorer IIThe Mennonites around my area have big propane freezers and fridges without 12V (unless it is built in somehow not obvious?). You might investigate what they or some of the Amish use.
Out of curiosity I dug around and found this web site that sells all manner of propane refrigeration:
