Any way to burn off onboard propane outside?

Any way to burn off RV propane outside? I will need to burn off may be 3-4 gallons of propane to get my onboard tank empty and cant do it inside as it will be getting hot by then. My onboard tank has quick disconnect port outside, but it provides low pressure propane, so none of my outdoor appliances would work with it, as they are high pressure. Not in a position to buy a new low pressure appliance as they are bulky and expensive. Do not have accesss to propane shop that got equipment to flare it all iff for me neither can do modifications to whats installed on RV tank now. So far I gathered I can drill to enlarge burner holes in a standard high pressure camping stove, to make it work with low pressure. Are there any other ideas?

  • Im located in the remote desert living in my RV full time, I have no access to bbqs or room to store one

Local propane place was not helpful on how to burn stuff on.

I found a small stove that works off low pressure close to my regulator pressure online, just need to figure out the right hose for it. I have quick disconnect port on my tank but cant figure out if its 1/4 or 3/8 one, let me post a separate tread on the fitting. Once I figure out what fitting I got I can order a hose on amazon

  • Not knowing your situation like it you're on the road full time or only part time and living in Suburbia. But If it was me I would drive around the neighborhood and pick up a free giveaway bbq. Then just cut the regulator off and splice an extension hose to move the bbq away from the RV. Light it up and let it burn. Discard the old BBQ when done.

Thinking further I would probably use my existing bbq and an extension hose with no regulator. You're talking low pressure so a standard hose clamp would be more than adequate for the connections. Something maybe like this.

You might also call a propane place and ask what they would do. I wonder if they would just vent the propane to the atmosphere and move on.

  • get a quick connect hose and attach it to a large BBQ (just find a BBQ that has a separate reducer and regulator)  you unscrew the reducer from the regulator then use the rv's system to supply low pressure and it will work good.  I use a Webber q for camping and it is perfectly set up for this if you want a small BBQ to take with you after.
