Arctic Fox camper electrical issue

Hello all, New member, camping enthusiast for may years. I have had a fifth wheel for 10+ years and our family loves to camp.

I recently picked up a used 2015 Arctic Fox 1150 camper that the wife and I can use for shorter trips or ones without the kids. Not getting rid of the fifth wheel, but it is nice to have another option to get to places that are not as easy as the larger fifth wheel.

This last weekend camping we noticed the plug outlet and the lights and fan in the bedroom area do not work. This is the first real time we have used it after purchase, and I did not test them all when I bought it, so maybe an issue that came with trailer.

It does the same thing on generator power, or shore power. I have tried it at the campground on 30Amp plug and at home with a standard 110 extension cord through a 30 amp plug conversion. outlet and lights in the back 3/4 work fine, but the bedroom area: fan, light, plugs, don't work. Seems like a GFI trip, but I can only find one GFI plug that supports the entire unit, which is right above the kitchen sink. I have looked through all the interior, exterior, and maintenance access areas, and there is not other GFI protected plug that I can find.

Is there another Arctic fox owner that can shed some light? is there a second GFI or any known issues/

thanks for any help.

  • Sounds like fuse/breaker issues. Let us know what you find out.
  • The lights and fan are 12 volts DC. Locate your 12 volt power distribution panel. It is commonly adjacent to the 120 volt AC circuit breakers. Odds are that there is blown fuse.
120 volt receptacles are only hot when plugged into shore power whether it is power from pedestal or genset. It could have a tripped circuit breaker in the 120 volt panel. Turn off all circuit breakers, applying light pressure toward off then turn them back on one at a time. Make sure you have 120 volts AC to rig.
