I didn't have a any issues at all with my BAL frame and Dexter axles. And the only issue I have had with the Lippert frame and axles is with a faulty brake from the factory, which Lippert quickly sent me new ones, no questions asked. The Lippert frame seems to be more beefy, but then again I went with a slightly larger TT. I can only speak for the current "bigger" lineup that they all have the Lippert frame and axles, I have no idea about the "smaller" units. But, as you pointed out, it would be more cost savings if they stuck with one frame manufacturer across the board. You are correct, it was around the time that Thor purchased Jayco that they switched to the Lippert frames.
