- Crazy_RayExplorerThanks Dutch.
- Dutch_12078Explorer IIThe Ford 4R100 tranny used with the V10 powered F53 chassis has the B/U switch on the transmission, as does the E40D used with the earlier 460 V8.
On edit: I should mention that the part is called the "Transmission Range Sensor", and also serves as the neutral safety switch along with other functions. It has an eleven pin connector. - eHoeflerExplorer IIMost are located on the steering column if an automatic, on the transmission if a manual.
- mobeewanExplorerShould screw into the transmission. I've replaced 2 before. One on an Isuzu pick up and one on a Toyota Celica. Look for 2 wires coming from a fitting on the side or near the rear of the transmission. When shifting the transmission something in the transmission associated with reverse engages the switch.
- Dusty_RExplorerFirst place I would look is on the steering column.
- Cameo_PhilExplorerThe switch should be located on the transmission
