Actually, you are NOT going to make the gray or black tanks "smell like roses". That is NOT the objective. The objective is to keep the smells from those tanks out of the RV.

You don't say what RV you have, so don't know the exact plumbing, but insure that all P traps have water in them. Also check for under sink "check valves" that can dry out and leak odor-- they are only a few bucks at the box stores. If you have a washer, make sure it's P trap has water or anti-freeze in it.

Bottom line-- find the source of the odor and address it.

Fill the black water tank 1/4 full of water and put a 10 lb bag of ice in it. Drive around for a bit to let the ice bang against the sides. Then, fill it the rest of the way and empty it. Repeat if necessary.

You may also want to double check that the vent on the top of your camper is not clogged up.

could be your grey tank. put some anti freeze if you are winterizing, water if not, into you p traps. could be the traps are dry and the odor is coming from the grey tanks. the grey tanks can smell worse than the black tanks sometimes. mine used to smell like that and I installed a quickie flush into the grey tank and when I dump now I clean out the black and the grey tanks and no more smells
