Thanks everyone - I'm starting to get a better sense of this (sort of!). I do use the converter to do the primary charging. So, I'm thinking This would serve my purposes well.
Am I on track?
Perfect although shop around.- nineoaks2004ExplorerHarbor Freight also has battery maintainers for $4.99 on sale they work as well as the expensive ones, I have one installed on my wife's gas golf cart battery, my 4 wheeler and installed one on my neighbors 4 wheeler. I bought a double plus with wires on each end (cannot be plugged in backwards, cut the clamps and installed lugs, put on side of the pigtail on the battery, this way I only have a small pigtail sticking out. When brought back to the storage shop /carport just plug the pigtail in, keeps the battery charged. Works fine.

Am I on track? - TomG2ExplorerI have good luck with a Harbor Freight 6/2 amp 6/12 volt charger. 2 amps for the tractor battery, six for the travel trailer. $30, problem solved.

I recommend a BatteryMinder Plus brand maintainer. at 1.3 amps it will charge and maintain the lawnmower and it will maintain the RV battery all winter. I would tend to let the converter do most of the actual recharge on the larger RV battery before you put the BatteryMinder on.
First I think the OP has to decide if he is going to maintain or charge. :h - I recommend a BatteryMinder Plus brand maintainer. at 1.3 amps it will charge and maintain the lawnmower and it will maintain the RV battery all winter. - nineoaks2004ExplorerYou need a charger that will charge at 2 amps for the lawn mower battery, any more amps than that will ruin the battery. You should be able to plug the M/H in and it will charge the battery.
I bought a roll around charger at Tractor Supply that will give you 2/ 20/and start amps too. It will also tell you amps of charge, voltage of charge and % of charge it also will cut off when fully charged, I paid less that $100.00 for it and use it constantly in my shop. - pianotunaNomad IIIHi Mickey,
You should be able to just plug in the RV to shore power. To charge the tractor battery you could jumper from the "house" batteries to the tractor battery. - Mickeyfan0805Explorer

Hi,
What make and model is your rv? Does it have a converter?
It's a Rockwood 8312ss. We're not looking for charging off a generator or charging during the season. It is simply for maintenance during the winter and, formnow, charging the lawn mower battery on a lawn tractor that has a faulty charging system. - mena661Explorer
