TT new to me. Two batteries, dated '08, one is 75 amps, one is 675 amps. Its been awhile to have dealt with this. Should the amps be matched or is it like I have one battery? Both are deep cycle, 24dc...

I'm back and confused. I have 2 Golf Cart batteries at 107 amps. Series 12 volts, 107 amps. Two 12 volt batteries at 114 amps. Parallel, 12 volts 228 amps. Am I correct? Why would 2 6s be better at 107 amps than 2 12s at 228 amps. Don't you want a high reserve capacity? There is no cranking in the application, just battery draw usage. Confused Thanks bare with me.
For deep cycle use, the standard measurement is how many amp hours are there in capacity when discharged at the 20 hr. rate. Starting or hybrid marine batteries rarely have these rates on the battery. It makes it confusing for comparison to true deep cycle batteries.
Your 6V GC batteries each have a capacity of over 200 amp hours. When connecting them in series, the voltage doubles but the capacity is the same as one battery.
If you connect two BCI Grp. 24 12V batteries in parallel, the voltage remains 12V but the capacity doubles. Typical Grp 24 hybrid marine battery will have a capacity of around 80 amp hours. Two of them = 160 amp hours.
The 6V batteries are superior for the application.
