I don't remember if anyone asked but are you guys planning on going to full hookups campgrounds or boondocking? I am assuming boondocking cause you're interested in solar. You'll need one more piece of equipment and that's an inverter. This will allow you to use your sat box and TV (unless the TV is 12V) solely from battery power. I would get a 300W unit. That will ensure you can watch TV, charge the laptop and phones all at the same time. You might be able to get away with a 150W inverter if your TV is low draw. Too bad you already have a TV. I could've recommended a TV with VERY low draw.
yes we do have tv and dish - wow how many 6volt does it take to store that much juice ? Is that what the 16 is ?
DW and I have a ton of battery storage because we wanted to be able to watch TV all day with the heater running if we were rained out on a trip.
