Battery boxes

I designed my new battery box for under the FW to take 4- 6V 260A Crowns, They are lined op side to side, I have 1/2" end play at side and about 1/4" at ends, I have read to allow 1" gab betvin but seen plenty bundled together like mine in difrent configurations is this ok or not, I do have temp gage on them and think the space is for cooling and expansion when charging. I do have a couple of holes near bottom of box and also a tube attached at top to outside for gassing. Any thoughts thanks.
Frank.
  • I chose the Crowns as I had read wery good things about them, the plates a lot thicker and hewier than most and the 260A rating compared to most chipper 100A bought them out of Lakeland FL and they transported to Fort Myers wher I met up with driver, wery good to work with, Fisher batterys I belive.

  • I just bought and installed a new battery box for four 6V batteries and it has about the same space between the batteries. I'm sure you will be fine with your set up.
  • I thing you are fine. Can't imagine that much expansion but maybe a little. I'm curious why you chose Crown? We might need some and I've heard good things about them and Lifeline.
