battery, charger or wiring issue?

First camping trip out this year and the battery does not work. We only have one battery. If the 120 volts is off, the battery cannot run anything and lights dim down to almost nothing. We are always plugged into shore power so the battery gets little use.

Voltage at the converter panel is 13.72 volts. Battery voltage is 12.43 (with pos. cable disconnected) which should mean about an 80% charge.

Is this simply a bad connection somewhere? I cleaned the battery connections but no change. Will look at the circuit breaker in the A-frame next. Connections at the fuse panel are fine.

We had our TT in to the dealer last Dec. and when I picked it up, the battery was dead and I assumed the dealer had left a light or two on and didn't think anything of it. Looks like something has been wrong for a while. TT is under 1 year old.

With trailer plugged in check the voltage at the wires that go on the battery. should be that same 13.7 volts as at the panel.

With trailer not plugged in and battery showing 12.4 with no load, now turn on some lights. What happens to the battery voltage?

Don't forget to ask, "80% of what?"
