What is it: It is a controlled overcharge of the battery
What is your method: RV came with a Progressive Dynamics 9180 with charge Wizard, after 20 hours of FLOAT the Wiz, kicks into a short (15 minutes) Overcharge cycle, that is how I normally do it.
If the batteries are in SERIOUS need of it (Very very very rare) I have a Prosine 2.0, I can command it to do the job as well. This is a much longer and slightly higher voltage over charge. - doughereExplorerBypass my solar controller on a nice sunny day.
Doug - NinerBikesExplorerMy mega watt will do 15.5V, but I set it for 15.0V, for a top charge. The old 6 amp Sears Roebuck manual charger, circa 1979, will provide 16.0V at the battery, if left on long enough, for a true equalization charge. Neither provide Pulse Charging gimmickery.

I use my inverter / charger and follow the directions to enter into a 15.5 volt charge for 8 hours. it will shut off automatically and enter in to a float charge of 14.2. after that.
Wow, 14.2 float, first time I've seen that. - 64thunderboltExplorer IIMy powermax boondocker will do 14.8. But my charger in the garage will hit 15.7 with the disconnect off & cook them good.
- My solar does a higher than normal voltage an hour every 120 days but not really high enough to call equalizing. Voltage max is 15.0

What PD converter does 14.6? Perhaps the above is a typo for 14.4?
Yes, I run Equalization size voltages on mine to get the SG up to true full SOC. That is a different purpose from getting all cells equal in SG, but uses the same method.
:) Hi BFL. Yeah probably 14.4? I cant remember it all exactly from last summer. I usually dont use the PD either. And thanks for all your good comments back then.
