His inverter is NOT running through a shunt.
The shunt is between his battery negative and ground, just where it needs to be to allow for current measurements.
The OPs inverter
DOES connect through his shunt from his diagram. All current from the - battery post passes through the shunt including the inverter.
Don has different ideas for his setup.
