Battery monitoring (Trimetric type vs Panel mount type)

Please help me in understanding the pros and cons and maybe more importantly the differences between these types of units. I can get panel mount volt meters that will also measure amp draw but base...

Speak to Randy at Best Converter, I have one of his simple voltage monitoring panels that has a settable low voltage alarm feature.

Works good, except that funny Peukert effect gets in the way under heavy loads, which turns the alarm on for a second or two.
