This is not the kind of "green light" that one should trust or obey. Take a multimeter to pump and report back.
I had my pump "failing", sort of. Motor running, no water flowing. Turned out to be debris in intake filter and air leak in the pump housing. It only needed cleaning and re-tightening.
But, by all means, go ahead and buy if you think you have to, keep China happy.
I don't know what is a "screw-on black plastic". If it's a hose fitting, and it's not broken, then disconnect and reuse it. Intake filter you remove, inspect and clean and again - if it's not broken, then reuse it.
