Not sure where you heard the noise from - front or back. Looks like a long bolt 6" and 1/2" diameter. My WAG - This could be a spring hanger bolt or a leaf spring centering bolt. I would check the suspension, then the steering. If something that big comes out of the engine would be really noticable. Another WAG - might want to check the motor mounts - another possibility.
