There is a semantic problem here.
The hose is not "collapsing" as that implies an internal/external pressure issue and that is not what you have.
What you have is a "kinked" hose that is caused by trying to use too tight a bend radius.
The mentioned spring trick will work if you can find the correct spring, but even easier would be to redo the house routing to eliminate the tight radius. This may require a longer hose, but on some occasions, I actually been able to shorten a hose run to eliminate the kink.
